Is this windows 10 compatible?

Not sure, but I would stay away from this unit. Mine failed in about 6 weeks and I get zero response from Samsung. It's nice to look at, though.

will this drive play and write DVD's/CD's off of my Dell laptop computer?

Probably.  It uses a standard interface that's been around for a while.  If you have an old OS, you might need to buy software; but the latest versions of Windows (and Linux) come with support for it.

I bought one for my girlfriend's new laptop because it didn't have an integrated DVD player.  She plugged the thing in, Windows 8.1 installed the drivers and she was off.

I don't think she's tried burning a disc yet.  We don't have much use for them anymore.  We've mostly switched to a combination of online storage, USB flash sticks and USB 3.0 backup drives for our storage needs.

Is this compatible with a Macbook pro osx 10.6.8 ?

Yes, I used it with Snow Leopard. I don't recommend this burner as mine has started to make a horrible noise when it is burning. Very irritating as it is only a few months old.

What burning software / versions does this come with? Nero / Power2Go, versions 8/7 etc.

I don't recall it coming with burning software. I do have Power2Go V.8 on my machine. Maybe it came with the burner. I don't recall. But I use the free Imgburn software, which works very well.

What are the minimal requirements for the software? Will it be compatible with AMD A6 processor?

I would imagine that it would be an issue of the Operating System. Which OS are you using?

Can I use this drive with my MacBook Pro?

It works on my Mac Mini without a hitch, so I would expect the same with a MacBook Pro. A much cheaper alternative to the Apple branded external drive.
