The Samsung WriteMaster SH-S182D/BEBE is a triple-format EIDE/ATAPI drive which reads and burns DVD, dual-layer DVD, and CD format media. Dual-layer DVD’s hold up to 8.5 GB of data, and are ideal for users who need to backup or share large amounts of data. The WriteMaster's 18X DVD writer takes less than 6 minutes to write 4.7GB of data to a DVD R/RW disc, and its advanced technology gives you coaster-free performance!
The unit is engineered with a Weight Balancing System that reduces drive noise; Speed Adjustment technology which matches the speed rating of the media; buffer under-run protection; Tilt Actuator Compensation to adjust for deformed writing surfaces on media; and Double Optimum Power Control, which balances the laser power on the sides of the disc for enhanced writing performance.
