Does this system require an internet connection to operate?

You would need an internet connection if you plan on any remote viewing or using the iPolis app.  It will operate and record w/o the internet but the only viewing you can do would be on the monitor that you hooked the system up to.

Can I use it without internet just as a recorder?

The system is standalone so yes, it will work just fine with no internet or network connection. You will need a monitor or TV to view it on though for playback.

Question 3

The questions and answers already posted do not match the items description. Does it come with Cat5 cable or standard camera cable? Listing says it comes with a 1tb hard drive in one place and 2tb hard drive in another, then in the questions, it was answered that you have to purchase a hard drive. Kind of afraid to order with so much misinformation.

The cables that come with system are bnc and camera power combo cables. Great little system when set up correctly

Does this bundle set come with the 4 BNC/Power cables? If so how long are the cables? Thank you.

yes this come with everything needed . Not sure what shawn is talking about. THis unit user BNC/power cable combo. about 65ft long each. comes with 4 of them

Do you need to purchase the cables to hook up the system? 
If cables are included..How long are the cables to the cameras?
Is there anything else I need to purchase that is not included in this system?

All cables come with the system. Each camera comes with 100 foot of Cat5e wire. The only thing you would have to buy separate is a hard drive.
