Hi Tony,
   Brightness of the display is excellent out of the box. We use it in our kitchen pretty close to our dining table, which has a chandelier giving off 300 watts of light. This is our third Samsung TV and we're just as satisfied with the other two.

How well does this work as a PC monitor as well as a TV?

Great TV! Have mine in a bedroom and use it via wi fi. Internet, Netflix, etc. TV has the square base they show in the different view slides. Have not direct wired to the pc yet. Being a smart tv I don't really need to.

Does Samsung UN28H4500 have a coaxial cable input (can you directly connect to it with a regular Comcast coaxial cable?)
I know that you can with a HDTV cable, but does it have the male coaxial connector that you screw the coaxial cable on to.

A better answer is to check the spec sheet on the Product Tour and not on newegg.  The spec sheet there does show that this television does have an RF input.  Which is the threaded coaxial input.

Please be aware you can update/add apps to Samsung TV's, so it is a moving target on what you can get

No cables are included with the exception of the power cable.  This information is not readily available in all the specs at Samsung or here. They are not specified in the User's Manual either. You have to figure it out when looking at the many ways to set this up listed in the manual on Samsung's site and possibly here also.
