If you mean the Direct TV provider, the answer will depend on the availability of their service in your area. But the TV is capable of air and cable TV connection.

If you mean wifi direct, miracast or mirroring, the TV is capable.

Specifications gives neither mention of connection types available nor shows a picture of the input panel.

Will this TV do the wireless connection to my Samsung 300W HW-J450 Soundbar? It is supposed to wirelessly link up to a capable Samsung tv. I don't currently posses one and therefore have to use an auxiliary cable...

I only have tried it in my Notebook running Win 10 using WiFi Display feature together with Project button in the notification. I also tried it in my Windows 8.1 Phone's "project my screen" feature. Both devices are able to project their screen on the TV.

Is this unit a computer monitor as well as a TV?

I'm sure it could be, as long as your PC will output HDMI. I am using a Hannspree 32" LCD TV as my computer monitor now. I had to buy an older AMD graphics card with HDMI-out to send to TV. The Hannspree is only 720p, so computer resolution is limited to 1366 x 728. I am thinking of buying this Samsung to replace it because this is 1080p and will give me 1920 x 1080 computer resolution. Just make sure your video card can output at that resolution, has the right connection, and then use whatever the TV says is its NATIVE resolution when you hook up the PC. Anything else will make text look blurry. I am hoping it will default to 1920 x 1080 when I hook this up.
