I believe the Sansa 8GB uses internal memory, but it does have a microSD slot on the side in case you want the extra storage.

I don't see M4A in the list of supported formats. Here is the overview segment of the owners manual. You could always re-encode your files to a different format.

Is this SanDisk model bluetooth?

No it is not. You pay for what you get on this and you're not paying very much. It's a great rugged little player but no bluetooth.

Will this device work with Windows 8?
Also, does it have a bookmark feature - to keep your place in an audio book while you switch to music?

I do not have good answers for you because I have not used Win8.  It works great with WinXP and Windows Media Player.  I have also been able to use it with Win7 and I connect it to my Mac but not to iTunes.  I would expect it to work with Win8.

Although it can be accessed by Windows Explorer as a storage device, you must take care to ensure to copy supported formats, which has been a problem for me.  When switching between MP3's and FM radio, it will come back to the point on the MP3 where it left off however I have not tried switching between two stored sources such as an audiobook and an MP3.

It's durable: My first one lasted for years before the battery died.  For the last year I have been using one that survived the washing machine.  I keep a backup but have only used it when the battery dies on the main one.  I strongly recommend against buyng one that is refurbished as I got burned with one that had no effective warranty.

Just wondering why is there a limit to the sd cards? 64GB wont work with it?
