As far as I know, it does not.  The only way to listen to it would be to plug in some speakers or headphones.

Does this player's having an Expansion Slot (Micro SD/SDHC) mean that I can add extra memory?

Yes. You can add a lot of extra space to it with the expansion card. Just remember that the more you add though, the slower the turn on time will be as the device has to preload all of the music information at startup. If you try to do a lot of music it will take a few minutes to preload everything.

How does one charge the internal battery? I notice it doesn't
come with any kind of charger.

You cannot charge the internal battery except through the special USB cable that comes with the device.  When you connect it to a USB slot on a computer then power provided through the USB slot charges the device's battery.  While it is connected and charging, you can also be downloading songs to the device through e.g. Windows Media Player's "Sync" function.
