SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 4830 DirectX 10.1 100265L 512MB 256-Bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: This video card has been phenomenal and I have experienced no problems whatsoever. For those looking to get the best bang for your buck, this card uses the same GPU chipset as the 4850 (which runs at ~$140) and the 4870 (~$170-200). When overclocked, this card outperforms the 4850 and is comparable to the 4870. Did I mention this card has tremendous overclocking potential? Also VERY surprised to be able to run Crysis Warhead on 1680x1050 (full resolution for me) at maximum gamer settings without any lag in play. WoW runs as smooth as a baby's bottom on highest settings as well, and colors look great. ATI Catalyst software also pretty useful in helping you find maximum sustainable overclock (overdrive told me I could go to 690mhz cpu/1165 memory)

Cons: -The card itself doesn't look terribly attractive, but this really isn't a concern because it's inside the case most of the time anyway and performs extremely well. -memory doesn't overclock as well as the the GPU (read below) -have to wait for rebate

Overall Review: The recommended overclock settings as determined by ATI overdrive works for most games. I found that for the most intense game I have (Crysis warhead), i had to backdown the memory overclock to 965mhz to avoid artifacts ingame. Surprisingly, this did not affect my 3dmark 06 benchmarks much at all. -Also, i recommend other GPU overclocking programs (like RT) to do your overclocking, but use the ATI overdrive to find your maximum potential (but tone down ur memory settings a bit to around 1000mhz)

Pros: Good deal for the money. Rock-solid card. Idles absolutely silently about 41C in my poorly ventilated mid-height case with "17% RPM" according to independent monitor program, and fan ramps up slowly to (really) barely-discernable noise in WOW, full-strength options enabled, for hours on end. AMD's 8.12 drivers seem to have solved fan speed defects, on this Sapphire card at least. Got with AMD X2-6000 (3.1) bundle. Ordered Thurs afternoon, arrived here near London Ontario on following Tuesday afternoon in snowstorm (of course). Standard delivery.

Cons: Absolutely none.

Overall Review: There's a 3-pin jumper on the card, top-left of HSF, labelled "PAL/NTSC" referring, I guess, to the European (PAL) and North American broadcast/output signal standards (mutually exlusive). Out of the box it is jumpered over the two left-most pins under the "PAL" portion of the printing, leading one to believe that it must changed to jumper the two right-most for NTSC. INCORRECT ASSUMPTION. For North America's system (NTSC) leave it on the two left-most pins as it came out of the box. Card is nearly 2" longer than the 8600GT it replaced; no sweat in reasonably-sized cases. To avoid problems if you are replacing an existing card, have the new (downloaded) AMD drivers ready on your hard drive (forget using the ones on the supplied CD), delete your existing GRAPHICS (not chipset) drivers in Add/Remove, then reboot into safe mode (F8). Then run DriveSweeper (downloaded previously) and specify which slop pieces of old driver code you want deleted before you install your new drivers.

Pros: - I have been testing this card all day playing NFS Undercover, CSS, L4D, and some older titles that I play frequently, and they all play really smoothly. I upgraded from a Sapphire x1950 Pro and thus far I'm really enjoying the transition. - Temperatures are quite low: mid to low 30s C idling in non 3D mode, where the card is automatically down clocked to 160/250; about 55-60C while underload from what I've seen so far. This card is quite quiet as well. - Installation and driver installation are easy and work well so far. Just make sure you have a 6 Pin PCI-E connector and at least a 450W PSU! - Shipping was quick to Canada, 3 business days via UPS standard.

Cons: None so far.

Overall Review: System I'm running this card on: - AMD Phenom X4 9600 Black Edition @ 2.7GHz - Antec Earthwatts 650W PSU - Antec Sonata II Case - 2x2GB Mushkin Redline PC 8000 Memory - Asus M3A Motherboard - Windows XP w/SP 3

Pros: This card allows me to play Crysis, Bioshock, Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress 2, COD 4, all at very high settings even with a 22" lcd monitor. I couldn't be happier with the card. It runs at low temps and the ATI Catalyst software makes checking the temp and overclocking, or as I do, underclocking to reduce temp and extend the life of the card.

Cons: The rebate is a complete joke, it is impossible to get. worldwiderebates is obviously a scam company that doesn't give rebates to anyone. Sapphire should drop these guys asap. I knew this going in and figured I wouldn't get the rebate.

Overall Review: It usually runs about 33C at idle and up to 51C under heavy load. I got this card because the fan is the same as the 4850 but it is on this card that runs cooler. I don't have any need to overclock and I just want a card that will last me a long time and perform for what I need. Its awesome to know that I could setup crossfire with other types of ATI boards in the future when I want to upgrade.

Pros: This card is great, plays everything on max settings. Including Crysis. No bottlenecking on my system with this card. Alot better then expected. Runs really cool. most the time the fan isn't even running at idle. Playing call of duty 5 fan speed never even gets into the 20% range so its quiet. Idle temps are 28c-34c. Max temp that i have seen on it is 54c thats it. thats at max for over a hour so i doubt it would get much warmer.

Cons: none so far. As soon as you get the card update drivers from ATi's site. make sure its 8.12 or later driver set. Otherwise it is kinda glitchy or was on my system.

Overall Review: Uses alot of power like i expected. I only have a 430w power supply and i can tell its slightly under powered. so if you run this card make sure you have at least 500w. In the booklet that came with it says 450w but i don't the extra 20w would be enough. The tempratures i saw where with a ambient temp of 65f in the house. In case ambient was 23c so still cool air. i don't know what summer will bring temp wise but i doubt it will ever get over 60c on the card.

Pros: Heres some numbers from the new games at 1280x1024. Far Cry 2 is a little bit of a challenge maxed out. I was getting between 33-40 FPS in the woods opening up with a machine gun. COD WaW is no trouble for this thing totally maxed, i can v-sync at 70 FPS no probs and looks yummy. Fallout 3 runs excellent hovering around 40-45 FPS maxed and looks spectacular. BIA:HH also looks and runs spectacular.

Cons: Im a little disappointed with Far Cry 2 performance. Although turning up AA did get me a few more frames so maybe a new driver can help.

Overall Review: You get the picture. If you have an old monitor or are happy with 1280x1024 max details, swoop it. My rig.... Athlon 5000 BE at 2.9ghz, 4gb G-Skill DDR2 880, this card at 650/910, Saph. 690G board. XP SP3 and X64 Ultimate, I game on XP. Probably going to make the switch soon, have SP 2 in hand.

Pros: The Radeon HD 4800 series is a great graphics family, you already know it. the 4830 is the little brother, but this little brother is not weak at all. Very likely you have already read the revies all over the web, so you know how potent the Radeon HD4830 is (faster than the GeForce 800GT / 9800 GT) Sapphire did a very good job in its implementation, the card is decent length, PCI express power connector is accesible, the heatsink is huge and hence very good at cooling the card. Even better, the fan is decently quiet at full load, and adjust automatically depending on load. I can browse the web and the fan barely spins. Start an game and it will spin as needed. Bundle is adequate (Component TV out cable, DVI to HDMI adapter, TV S video out, PCI express poweer adapter to molex)

Cons: Really no cons, just items to keep in mind: - Heatsink is huge, it takes the adjacent slot. However, I knew it from the pictures, so this wasn't a surprise. - No native HDMI

Overall Review: Very well made card of a very good chip. Good job Sapphire!

Pros: COD5 plays at high settings 1080 like butter on a 46" samsung via HDMI. all the plugs\adapters are included. VERY quiet and cool on idle. CCC is showing 40C idle , 45C after an hour of gaming so the cooler is doing a great job.

Cons: latest drivers BSOD'd my system on every restart. had to uninstall in safe mode and install drivers off the CD ( i believe 8.10). since then i had no problems.

Overall Review: gets a bit louder during gaming, but you can only hear it between load times (who plays games on mute anyway?) great purchase.
