Hi, I have a ASUS Desktop M11BB and I wanted to know if it is compatible to install this graphics card?

Looking at your desktop model, this gpu would have many issues in it.

1. Big card. I have a regular atx tower, and had trouble fitting this guy into it.

2. The recommended wattage is 750w, I use 650w and it runs fine, no problems. But, if you haven't replaced anything on the desktop, I assume it still has that 300w ish range power supply, which you would have to upgrade.

3. It can run very hot. Like entire case heating up hot. You really need a good cooling system for this card.

4. Still assuming you haven't modified anything on the desktop, it still has a lower end a10 processor. There might be bottlenecking/performance problems with the gpu because of the cpu.

So in summary, you pretty much for sure need a new case with a solid quantity/quality of fans and a new power supply. And the processor might give you issues with more demanding games. This card is really nice and I haven't had hardly any issues other than the heat it gives off. I research some of the other 280x models like the ASUS, I hear they run cooler. 
P.S. The next line of GPUs are rumored to be coming out in the next few months, so If you wanted to wait and see if these and other cards go down in price it wouldn't be a bad idea.

It is a longer length card so I would definitely make sure to measure before you purchase.  I have a Corsair Vengeance® C70 Mid-Tower Gaming Case.  It fits in the case with no problem.

Question 4

It says it needs a 750 watt PSU, is this an actual requirement? I have used several different websites that say my build will come to about 500 watts total. Will this card run on a 600 watt PSU?

Although it's an requirement, it doesn't need that much PSU wattage.  If you look at some articles, some are using a 600-650 Watt PSU's and everything runs smoothly. If you have the money, go for the 750 Watt PSU, just to be safe. I personally have a 750 Watt PSU for this GPU and everything is running fine as it should be.

For the 7 years, I've bought AMD cards, starting with the HD4950. Loved it. No problems till the Frostbyte engine in the BF/Bad Company came out. Then I bought a HD6950, then the HD7950. All were great cards. Then for some reason I allowed myself to be persuaded by friends to buy Nvidia gtx 970sc. I'm not real comfortable with the graphics. True, it's a good card. It's high detail is different. Nvidia detail & 3D type is it's own camouflage for my opponents. Seems slower with heat. Notice an speed differences when R9 280x warms up? Like this and the 290x. In BF 3, 4?

I personally have not noticed any performance hit at all. I play can play bf4 for hours (I'm talking like 10-12) without any trouble from heating up. My fps stays the same constantly and this card, for me, preforms great. Sapphire does a great job with its fan design that keeps my card nice and cool. It also has a logo on top that changes from orange to red if it over heats and even playing some of the most demanding games for long periods of time, I have never seen it turn red. For my money, Sapphire has been the way to go. If you are worried about heat though, you can also take a look at the VaporX editions of both the 280x and the 290x, they are supposed to perform great as well. Hope this helps some!

Will this fit in a tower with 520mm depth?

I put this in a mid tower case, so your best bet is to put it in the same. As well, the card does put out a lot of heat so if you're trying for a compact build maybe try a cooler running nvidia card. But to answer your question of your case is a standard mid tower it will fit fine, but make sure the card isn't too long for the case it is actually very lengthy

Hi everyone, new PC builder here that has a question: I see that this particular card recommends a PSU with a minimum wattage of 750, yet people here are stating that they're using this card with a 600 or 650 watt PSU. How can that be? Don't you need to take into consideration all of your other components in your PC as well as the GPU itself?

Hey Dylan, yes, there are lots of factors to consider when looking at power consumption.  The main consumers will be your graphics card and CPU.  Also, if you plan on overclocking at all in the future, be sure to pick up a PSU with some excess watts.

You can put your parts in a list at pcpartpicker .com and it will tally the total watt consumption for your build (the total here will be the max you would need if everything was running at 100%).  That site will also show you price trends and current lows for your parts.  On my builds I also search for my parts on slickdeals .net (or another deal site) to find lowest prices.

Depending on what you're using the build for and on your CPU, you would likely be fine with a 600w (maybe even a 500w) PSU. Also, if you can find a good deal, I would recommend a modular PSU - a lot less mess in your build for a few dollars more!  Hope this helps and happy building!

what is the diffrence between this card andXFX Double D R9 280 933MHz 3GB ?

Between 280 and 280x: This has more stream processors and higher out-of-the-box clock/memory speed. Also, I don't think 280's can be overclocked by default.

Between the XFX and Sapphire specifically: If I recall correctly, the Sapphire card was slightly quieter and cooler under load.
