I don’t think so. I use these drives in my rack mounted storage and I have to use my rack mounted unit to initialize the drive.

I prefer WD Hard Drive, Part #WD10EZEX from Newegg. I prefer WD and I believe they are the best. If not, pick your favorite brand from Newegg. Happy shopping.

Still have hard drives in existence barracuda 7200.12 1TB - ST31000528AS .
They can send it to Montevideo - Uruguay ( South America).
