No it does not you will need to provide your own operating system. if you have a current one running on your pc that is at least windows 7 or higher and a good key you can download the ISO file from the Microsoft website.

Yes, this will work in a regular desktop. You may need an adapter kit to mount it properly though depending on your PC. You can find them here on newegg, a 3.5 or 5.25 to 2.5 inch HDD adapter.

Of course, if it has a SATA connector.  Best with USB3.0 or faster otherwise it's a faster disk than you need.

Whats the differance between SSHD & SATA hard drives?

If you're unfamiliar with the terms, SSD stands for solid-state drive. It's basically the same as a USB flash drive, but on a bigger, much faster scale.
Unlike a traditional SATA drive which is a mechanical hard disk, an SSD has no moving parts. Storage is provided by memory chips instead of spinning magnetic platters.

SSHD stand for solid-state hybrid drive. It's a traditional hard disk with a small amount of solid-state storage built in, typically 8GB or so. The drive appears as a single device to Windows (or any other operating system), and a controller chip decides which data is stored on the SSD and what's left on the HDD.

If you have the cash I would go with SSD if you want to save money SSHD is fine.  If you are on a tight budget go with a traditional SATA drive.

I don't know why not. You can put something smaller (7mm) into a space designed for something bigger (9mm) but you made need a slight layer of foam rubber to properly cushion the drive.

My laptop only has room for a "slim" HDD. Will this drive work in it?

Remove your drive and measure the thickness compared to the drive you are interested in. laptop drive come in the following measurements:
7mm - ultra slim (ssd size)
9.5mm
12.5mm

This drive would not qualify as a slim drive, so I would suggest a different drive.

No, it has a built in algorithm that determines which files are most frequently used by the drive. Those will be put into the ssd portion.
