I would think you could.  The drive is faster and may run a bit hotter.  Compare specs closely, but it should fit most notebooks.

I have an ASUS G53JW-A1 with (2) 750 GB Sata 2.5 Hard drives. One just died and I need to replace it. I would like to know if this "thin" hard drive (or any other thin one) can be used in the original size case or will it be too thin and loose or am I better off with the old, original type hard drive?  Thanks.

Yes this will fit as the sata connector and basic shape are the same as any other 2.5 inch drive be it SSD or mechanical but I would suggest getting the new adapters that snap on the top to bring it to the full 9.5mm thickness so the drive would be properly secured from bouncing up and down....Hope this helps and they are very good drives I have several and they are great performers.

will this hard drive go into my hp pavilion g7 laptop ?

I looked up the G7 and it looks like this one is thinner than the drive that came with the G7. This drive is 7mm "tall" and the drive from the G7 is 9.5 mm. I put this new drive into a Dell laptop that also had a thicker hard drive. It will still click in to place, and fasten with the screws, but I had to turn the laptop over (right side up), to make sure it would slide in to the connectors. It might be a little different with the G7, but should still fit. To be absolutely sure you could look for a drive that is 9.5mm thick/tall.

Yes you can, however it will have to lay in a small bay on the case if your case does not have an area for 2.5" drives. You can buy an adapter to attach the drive to the case. Example Bytecc bracket 35225

I've read quite a few reviews saying this drive will fail within a year at most. Is that what I can expect from this purchase? If so what are some alternatives?

I have one of these drives running in an HTPC 24 hours a day for over a year to record all of my TV/Movies from a Hauppauge USB tuner and it has worked flawlessly a great value for the price!!

Is this Hd suitable for a toshiba L755 laptop?

Yes, the Toshiba L755 uses a Serial ATA drive, and that is what this is. The seagate ST500LM021 is a thin drive (7mm) which is thinner than necessary for most laptops, but since it mounts in a carrier on the Toshiba L755 it will work just fine. It will likely be much  faster than the old stock drive as well.

I have a lenovo t61p 6459CT configuration, will this hard drive work on this computer?

Looking at the laptop specs it shows to use a sata one  interface and although this drive uses a sata 6g spec they are for the most part backward compatible, also be aware that installing a sata 6g drive in a sata one socket will only run at a sata one spec and with drive being 7200 RPM you would see a small/moderate speed increase if your old drive was a 5400 RPM. does it work with the 2009 Apple Mac Mini?

It will work internally or externally. It you wish to use internally, there are videos on youtube showing how to remove the spinning drive and replace with this one. Externally, you need to get an external drive enclosure. Can be had sometimes for less than $10, and it's very easy to install. The internal drive task is fairly difficult. Once this is done, it is just a few clicks to format using the disk utility and you are good to go. It is very fast! Much more do than a spinning drive. Hope this helps.

Will this disk work with a Dell 1545?  I think disk is SATA 3 and Dell 1545 is probably older than that but disk may be downward compatible.

The original computer I installed this drive in was SATA II, so it is backwards compatible. I us the drive for file storage and to backup other computers to and it has worked flawless since the day I installed it. I think the drive will work fine in your Dell. All of the Dells that I have worked on have had either a Seagate or WD in them.
