Hi Zak,

This is not an SSD drive, this is a standard hard drive. If for no other reason, you can infer this from the drive speed that is given in the description (5400rpm). Standard hard drives use platters, solid state drives are, well, solid state and have no moving parts.

NO.

Your Dell Inspiron 6000 has a PATA not SATA interface and cannot be adapted to a SATA. Also the BIOS limits the MAX capacity of the drive to 120Gbyte.

Look for a good PATA drive for this laptop. Any manufacture will do. You may even try a PATA SSD instead of a platter/magnetic drive.
