Good replacement power supply for a HP S5000 series slim tower PC 2/24/2017 9:00:46 AM

Pros: More wattage than the OEM (220 watt) power supply
Correct fit.
Quiet.

Cons: None to speak of really. ..

Overall Review: I installed this power supply in a HP S5000 series slim tower PC . The cables were longer than the original power supply, but I was able to route them to take up the slack with small zip ties for a clean look. So far as I can tell, this power supply is as quiet as the original. I chose the seasonic power supply because of past experience with them.

Works very well for a DM-387 mini ATX case - with mod 7/25/2016 10:49:04 AM

Pros: Very clean power, very stable, very quiet

Cons: Does not fit the DM-387 case, due to the case fan being in the way. Had to remove the case fan. Since the PC only draws 30 watts, I doubt that I'll need a case fan at all. The PC is an HTPC with Asrock Z170m, 16gb, M.2 SSD, no graphics - 29 watts total (measured). If I need to, I'll mount the fan externally.

Overall Review: The original Apex/Allied 275 watt power supply would fail routinely - went through 3 of them, and finally switched to the Seasonic - which worked perfectly.

New-Used-Refurb??? 2/22/2016 6:45:44 AM

Pros: It powers up.

Cons: Not sure which version I received. From the description, I would suspect that this is supposed to be a "new" item. Mine came wrapped in bubblewrap, not in a box. Makes me wonder if I received and "open box" or a "refurb" unit.

Overall Review: Be wary about how you have this shipped. It wasn't mission critical so I used the egg-saver. As I tracked the package, it was heading my way, then made a left turn and was going away. Then it changed carriers and was no longer trackable. Which is quite strange since the first carrier makes daily deliveries here.

Manufacturer Response:
Hi Craig,

Thank you for purchasing our SS-300TFX. Our bulk units are not shipped individually in a carton box but with a bubble wrap. So there shouldn't be any reason to have receive a refurbished unit.
If you have any question, please let us know at: newegg@seasonicus.com
Thank you and have a nice day.

Since 2012 6/1/2015 12:40:34 PM

Pros: Quite
SSF Case
Rock Solid

Cons: None

Overall Review: I've had this little power house since 2012 and it has been running with my APU setup for a HTPC. My HTPC is also my media server (Plex). And for the most part has been running 24/7 since it was build in mid 2012. Best little PSU hands down for what I needed it to do.

DOA 3/2/2015 3:27:55 PM

Pros: It fits in a Dell Vostro 200s case

Cons: It was DOA. Only the +5VSB rail was working. Everything else dead. This supply was in worse shape than the dead one that I pulled.

I realize that this is a low end supply, but seriously!! Doesnt anyone at Seasonic test these?

Overall Review: I've had good luck with NewEgg in the past and it looks like Seasonic is the only major PS brand out there that is still building these TFX supplies, so hopefully the replacement unit works - but this has set me back a week and half an hour of labor getting this machine working

Good Mini-ATX PSU 1/27/2015 9:37:42 PM

Pros: Fan is noiseless - as with OEM PSU.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: I had replaced the PSU previously with a unit from another vendor. Noisy fan out of the box. Lasted about 3 months. This unit is as quiet as the original OEM unit and is working fine. Good choice if you need a PSU for an HP mini ATX.
