Can I use this Hard drive as just a drag and drop style for extra storage for my laptop?

I use this drive exactly as described.  I currently have a contract to build MS Access databases for the state and use the drive, with drag and drop, to transfer the database between my laptop and the state's PC I've been given for the project

USB 3.0 is backwards compatible with 2.  So yes, in most instances, it will work when plugged into a USB 2.0 port.  I imagine the only time it might not work is on an older system with outdated drivers.  Even then I would expect it to work.

Has anyone tried opening it to upgrade the HDD? Is it an easy screw fastened construction or some blasted glue and clip design?

There are 4 screws on the sides, that's about as much as I can help you with.  I have 2 but I don't want to try opening them.

Generally I try to have the PHD stationary when in use as it is a moving, mechanical device.  However, I have bumped mine a few times while in use and no issues.  Actually have two of these for file transfers and mobile backups and really like them.

Does the hard drive use data to usb inside so that if the hard drive packs up theI can take it out and put in a new surly it's just a few screws?

I'm sorry but I don't know.  I don't see anything on the case that could not be replicated on a fake.  I'd guess that the old saying "if it's too good to be true, it probably isn't" along with purchasing from a known reputable dealer would be your best bet.  I purchased mine from Newegg and am extremely pleased with it.

hi. i just bought this drive,and when i try to connect it to my notebook,it says windows can not find any drivers.my notebook is not too old,but does not have USB3.0. anyone knows how to solve this issue? any helps will be appreciated

Hmmm, I'm running Win 7 Pro 64-bit with USB 2.0 and have had no problems.  My laptop is running the same setup and it didn't have any issues either.
