Can you plug these items directly into an iPod or do they have to be connected by Bluetooth only?

The picture is kind of confusion. It did actually have wire connection to ipod or iphone. No bluetooth connection available for this model!

Is this authentic Beats headphones?

According to Beats website, Newegg is not an authorized retailer therefore warranty would not be covered by manufacture. Who would take care of it if it failed to work within the first year?

Is this on ear or over ear? The product name says on ear, but the description says over ear. They are two very different products (also price wise). Can someone clarify?

i did not purchase  this item. it was some one using my credit card which newegg cancelled the order. i thank newegg for doing this . i have since called my credit card and got a new one.

According to the product info on this page it says these headphones have a rechargable battery....Am i correct to assume this is the old model and does require 2 AAA batteries?  please let me know because this will be a major selling point for me

Yes, this model does require 2 AAA batteries. They lasts appx a month if you use it 4-6 hours a day.
