I see that the F4U055WW has just 2 TB ports. One has to be used to connect it to the computer, so it leaves just another one to connect another TB devide. Please explain how you can then daisy chain up to 8 TB devices? Thanks for your attention.

The other devices have to pass through the thunderbolt signal. Thunderbolt is a bus like USB, except that it does not split the signal like USB does. So, you are limited to only one device with a single thunderbolt connector since that device will not allow pass through and must be installed at the end of the chain. The first device would be this dock, then the next would be a 2 port device, up until the last device, which would only need a single port. If you add another device, you will need to move the single port device to the end of the chain.

Does this come with a thunderbolt cable or do you need to purchase this separately?

No cable came in mine.  I bought a third party cable (Kanex?) to use.

I've had my dock for over a year and it has performed without a hitch. I don't know about the new (if there is) model having an HDMI port, but the one I have does not.

I use several Macs and I can walk in the house, plug in a cable, then make immediate, extremely fast connections and transfer data.  Beats waiting on the slowness of WIFI data transfer.  My WIFI is not slow, but it is definitely not anywhere near Thunderbolt transfer speeds.

Nope. You'll need your power adapter. In my case I bought a second that stays at the desk.

Has anyone used this with Mac Mini running ESXi? I am wondering if it is compatible.

This is basically a thunderbolt device. If ESXi is like the virtual machine manager like the one I use, you should have no problem. The VM I use requires you to specify which OS (host or guest) that the peripheral will be used with, but the network connection is shared.

Product Dimensions: 3.2 x 12.5 x 7.4 inches ; 3 pounds

One thing to be aware of is that even though the Dock has it's own power supply the USB ports will not charge some devices such as iPads.  This is the only con I have found.
