The Model SVS-14 Audio Video Switcher lets you add additional components to your TV and home theater system by providing additional A/V inputs to your system.
Pros: Doesn't seem to be any issues with this one, works great
Cons: Unfortunately the weight of the cords behind it pull it down a little so keep that in mind before you want to sit it on top of the vcr or something.
Pros: S-video, no power supply needed. Fairly compact and simple design.
Cons: No remote :)
Overall Review: using it to switch between video game console and DVD player, both using s-video. Works for me!
Pros: Works well, sounds reasonably well on the opposite end. Can't beat the price.
Cons: It picks up most background noise. Set something small down on your desktop, like a pencil, and get a pretty good thud on the other end. If someone else is talking to you and you don't want whomever you're online to hear, better figure out how to mute it, because there is no mute button.
Overall Review: It does what it's supposed to do. It's worth what you pay for it, as long as it's under $10.00
Pros: I use it in my truck to connect 2 amplifiers Plus the Radio in the dash to my Ipod at the same time. You can push more than one button down at once and it will stay. Of course that's not what it's made for. But what it really offers is a way to select multiple AV inputs/outputs at the same time. Very useful for anyone working in AV.
Cons: None. I opened mine up and mounted it under a seat. Surprisingly complex circuitry inside. Dozens contacts on the buttons and dozens of resistors. I guess if you found some way to fry it, it'd be hard to fix? I added two capacitors and two diodes to protect my stereo in case of a short or surge. Any time you add something as universal as this, you should take precautions.
Overall Review: I didn't even know Newegg had this thing. I was just browsing for random AV stuff and I thought.. Hey! That looks familiar!
