DOA

Pros: Looks good and appears to have ample RAM

Cons: Installed it and could only get to the BIOS. No post to the OS no matter what the PCI port (I have no PCI-X)

works well for my Debian-based mythtv system

Pros: My 3GHz celeron + NVIDIA AGP card wasn't cutting it (jumpy HD video - fans constantly spinning up), so when MythTV added VDPAU support, I upgraded to this one and haven't had a problem since.

Cons: I have to run a proprietary driver - at least, until nouveau supports vdpau.

Just what I needed

Pros: Works for what I need it to do, running in my Ubuntu server. I just needed something NVidia so driver support would be good, and PCI since its Tyan mobo doesn't have AGP (and is too old for PCI Express). It works well for this purpose.

Cons: I had a strange issue, which I suspect is more the mobo's fault than the card. The mobo has 4 PCI-X slots, (NOT the same thing as PCI Express), and one regular PCI slot. For reasons unknown to me, the machine would not POST with this card in the standard PCI slot, only when it was in a PCI-X slot. This resulted in me having to rearrange some cards, and one of my RAID cards ended up in the standard PCI slot - so far this has had no real impact because the array that's connected to that particular card doesn't see heavy use. Again, I suspect this has more to do with the mobo than the card, it might just be that the power supply circuits to the PCI-X slots are more robust than that going to the standard PCI slot.

Overall Review: As others have said, due to the PCI bus limitations, I suspect this may not work great for HD video. In my case this isn't a concern, but if you're planning on that type of use, you probably should try to get a mobo that either has AGP/PCI Express, or some decent onboard video.

I got this card to put in my Ubuntu server, because the latest Ubuntu release doesn't seem to have drivers for its onboard ATI Rage anymore. This was resulting in video being entirely processed by the CPU, meaning very high utilization on one CPU any time ANYTHING changed on screen. Even things as simple as minimizing/maximizing windows, dragging things around, etc. would cause 100% utilization for a second. Even moving the mouse back and forth really fast could get it up to 40%, lol. Needless to say this was extremely annoying. Having this card means great driver support, and the system now runs as well as a dual Opteron setup with Linux should. :)

Useless

Pros: Not broken. Technically, it displays video.

Cons: I didn't realize how awful the PCI bus was. The Nvidia 6100 chipset video was causing some stutter when watching movies on Netflix. This card causes stutter AND lag. I don't know why they bother putting so much RAM on it if PCI is that slow that it can't play a movie like a $100 DVD player.

Pros: - PCI video card is better than on board still

Cons: Unfortunately, this was not able to pull HD video adequately enough. I bought this for a small atom media centre PC. I did notice some improvement, but mkv playback was still choppy and not worth it. Yet again, it's mostly PCI standard's limitaion. Back in 1993, they did not really plan for a high speed bus.

Pros: cheap card only thing good but not worth the money to ship it

Cons: install cd didnt work had to search the web for the drivers and has the worst lagg i have ever seen from a card cant get it to look good at all gets very hot

Overall Review: spend your money else where this isnt the card u wanna waist the time waiting on and have to wait again to get a new card from a good company
