The Jumpmaster 2 is a second-generation expression of the acclaimed Jumpmaster design that combines all the high-performance features of the original with the increased versatility of an acute point. Developed in close cooperation with the U. S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division jumpmasters—specially trained airborne-qualified soldiers who control parachutists during airborne operations—the original Jumpmaster was purpose designed to quickly and efficiently cut static lines in “hung jumper” situations. Its blunt-tipped sheepfoot blade had one of the most aggressive, long-wearing edges Spyderco ever produced, making it a popular tool of choice for survival-minded individuals who wanted a corrosion-free knife capable of extreme cutting power.
That audience, however, also expressed a preference for a more acute, utilitarian point design that would make the knife even more versatile in emergency situations. When they spoke, Spyderco listened, and the result was the Jumpmaster 2.
