What's the performance hit?

I used Crystal Disk Mark and I got a glimpse of 400Mb read/write, but only once and the software could never complete the test on this board for some reason. In my opinion, performance is better than a spinning platter. I read that the bottleneck for this card was in the JMicron RAID controller. I used two Samsung 120Gb mSata's in a RAID 0 config. A single Samsung mSata 120Gb is said to have 540MB/s read and 410MB/s write. So the RAID 0 had ZERO performance gain. In my opinion, I would say this is good for having more SSD space in one SATA slot using JBOD.

Does this item allow me to connect 2 X Samsung 850 EVO 1TB mSATA as Independent drives? (No Raid, just independent drives and separate partitions)

I was not able to configure the two MSATA drives independently... no matter what jumper settings i tried.... also, you will lose quite a bit of I/O speed using this device... but it works pretty well in the RAID0 mode i "am stuck" using.
