Essentially the same card as the Startech 2P6G but the 2P6GR has the RAID Controller built into the card whereas the 2P6G is just a NON-RAID SATA controller card only. If you don't need RAID control then just use the less cost Non-Raid controller. Both will work equally as well. Hope this helps
