Pros: This 20-pin connector does great at sending maximum data transfer rates of 8.64 Gbps plus 1 Mbps for its AUX channel which can carry additional data.
Purchased two of these beauties for my Quadro 6000 and they display well on my dual ViewSonic 24" LCD monitors.
Cons: For the price, can't complain too much. Maybe a bit longer ... (I have a unique set up where my equipment is on the other side of a closet wall. Makes for a clean and orderly office setup.)
Overall Review: I find it humorous that some of these other reviewers say their tech level is super high, and then they rate the product with only 1 egg stating the cable doesn't work because they got the wrong one for their application.
Pros: It is a great little piece if you're going to use it for something like a TV, or if you just want it for use with a second monitor.
Cons: This does not work currently with ATI Eyefinity. I've talked to Startech.com, AMD, and Sapphire and there is no way to figure out how to get this to work with the Eyefinity setup.
I tried to use this with an HDMI cable, but the Catalyst control center only recognized it as a DVI connection. I don't know if it is just not compatible with the current drivers, but I would stick with buying a DP to DVI video converter cable, that is what I am doing, will update if that works.

Pros: well built and working
Cons: what cons, IT'S A CABLE!
Overall Review: those reviewers that left negative feedback should have done their home work BEFORE they bough this item!
Pros: I have a 4-monitor system, and my monitors don't support DisplayPort. So I needed to find a way to connect my fourth monitor to my EVGA GeForce GTX 670 video card. I use this StarTech DisplayPort to DVI adapter in conjunction with a Tripp Lite P560-010 Dual Link DVI cable to connect my EVGA GeForce GTX 670 video card to my ASUS VS247H-P LED monitor. I've been using this adapter for three years, and it has been working perfectly.
The quality of the cable and connectors also appear to be well put together and of good quality. The latching feature on the DisplayPort is very nice so that the connection does not come loose. That goes the same for the screw holes on the DVI side as well.
Cons: None - It does exactly what I need it to do without any issues.
Overall Review: There are two types of DisplayPort adapters: active and passive. Understand which one you need for your application and purchase accordingly.
Many of the negative reviews on this adapter should be disregarded. They are from individuals complaining that a passive DisplayPort adapter is not the same as an active one.

They serve the purpose, but have had problems with several2/6/2014 12:03:05 PM
Pros: Convenient
Not much else to it
Cons: Issues with a few of them
Have had the Display port side rip out of the casing on a few of them
Overall Review: These cables are very convenient. Especially on the HP business models that have a Display Port. A cheaper alternative to buying a video card for duel monitors.
We've had a common issue with a handful of them plugged into an HP Pro 6000, 6200 and 6300. The fan will run really loud upon booting up with the cable plugged in. Shut the PC down, unplug and reboot. No loud fan. Already had the latest BIOS update. To resolve, we simply grabbed another cable it it worked without the loud fan problem. We've reused the cables having an issue with other PC's and they work OK.
Also, sometimes using this cable in a duel monitor environment, the monitor will end up not picking up the signal. Simply unplugging and plugging the cable back in works til the next time.
Latitude E6410 has audio and video working10/21/2011 9:15:50 AM
Pros: For some laptops displayport will not produce audio through it only video but I can say for my Dell Latitude E6410 and this converter you can successfully get audio and video using the converter and an hdmi cable to a tv works great.
Cons: None I would suggest researching if your computer can send audio and video through its displayport.
