Will this enclosure work with a Western Digital WD10EACS?
Also says WD caviar Green on drive.

This enclosure supports all types of 3.5 " SATA drives (which is what the WD10eacs is).  You should have no problem putting this drive in the enclosure. I stuck a 2 TB in mine (forget what brand) and it works fine.

Note that this enclosure is somewhat permanent once you stick your drive in it. You have to use supplied screws to install.  Some other enclosures on the market  allow quick release to allow other drives to be installed.

I use this for doing external backups so most of the time it is not connected to my system.  This is a pretty solid device--not cheap. Have used Startech before and they are good and I believe they will take care of any problems.

I have an Iomega 1 TB hard drive and it and it has stopped working, or atleast I can no longer access data from it. I've been told that a replacement enclosure would solve the problem. My question is, will my hardrive be compatible with the StarTech InfoSafe SAT3510U2V?

I have been using with 2 TB drives and it works fine. You have to check that the interface on your drive is SATA (as opposed to IDE or SCSI). Also that your drive is 3.5" (as opposed to the 2.5" laptop-size drives, though you could probably use 2.5" with an adapter or some kind of improvised setup in this enclosure).

hi i need more storage to install a software onto my internal drive and was to buy  SATA connection 3.5 1TB Hard Drive   is this hard rive suitable?  please help as i have no idea about hard drive  thanks

This is just the enclosure, the case that protects the drive and provides power. Hard drive is sold separately. This is a good quality enclosure. It has served me well with no problems. it will accept a SATA connection 3.5 1TB Hard Drive.

Would this enclosure work with a Western Digital WD4000AAJS, WD Caviar SE 400GB HDD. If not, any recommendations??

I think that the major manufacturers have all agreed on a universal protocol language and operating system (perhaps with some non-instructive differences).  I have put both WD and Hitachi HDs in StarTech enclosures with good result so I would expect there to be no problem unless you select a HD drive using later technology than the universal protocol noted above.  Just be sure to buy a new harddrive with current technology.  StarTech has been around for a number of years, and while I noted nominal issues in early models, recent models have proved seamless in operation.  Be sure the StarTech model you order matches technology with the HD you have or order.

Question 5

I have a 2009 Macbook which got water on it and I'm trying to move my pics, etc over.  Will this case be comparable with the hard drive in that computer?

This is for a 3.5" hard drive, the drive in your computer is most likely a 2.5" so you should get a smaller enclosure. I have used several external enclosures and they have all worked fine. You shouldn't have any problem with one. If you are getting a new computer you should get a USB 3 enclosure.

Question 6

Does this really need to be plugged in to the power adapter, or can this be run over USB only?  I ask because my 2.5" Rosewill case doesn't need external power (despite having a jack for it).

Does this drive work with drives larger than 2TB? Please only answer if you know for sure.

It does not work properly with Seagate Barracude ST3000DM001. When in the enclosure, the drive shows up as two drives: 2.1 TB + the remainder as another drive. I'm not sure it would work reliably this way. StarTech support confessed to seeing problems with this enclosure with *some* drives using Advanced Format, which this Seagate is using. (According to Seagate, it is not possible to remove Advanced Format from the drive and use the old 512).
