i have on cmera the out put is hdmi i want to stream this to server by cat5 how can i do?

You cannot do that with this item. This does not convert hdmi video into streaming video for playing over a network. It only plays hdmi video over cat5 wiring between the 2 boxes. To do what you want you'll need to look into products that do video streaming conversion.

I am looking to hook up multiple monitors to a a single source can it be done with this item if I buy more than one. Would I require a splitter?

This is a one to one extender. If you want to go to multiple monitors you would have to have a splitter in place before going into this extender. In going from a Mac to a Projector I did have to change the dial on the side to the greatest distance and I did have to manually set the type of system it was connecting to. Also the power goes on the receiving end not the sending end. Those were a few things that got me in the setup. Now though it works great.
