Just double checking but do both of the bays connect the hard-drive to computer or does one bay only have the SATA connector (I would like to clone a hdd)?

Both bays have SATA connections. Both drives will be seen by your computer when connected to USB. If you connect to this dock through eSATA, you may not see both drives due to the capabilties of the eSATA port on your computer. This dock does not have the capability to directly clone one drive to another. Try Macrium Reflect Free to store an image of the drive and then image the new drive.

What is the maximum storage capacity this docking station can handle?

The docking station can handle up to 4TB per bay, with a total capacity of 8TB for dual 3.5-inch drives.

Is this drive dock compatible with my operating system?

Yes, this drive dock is compatible with various operating systems including Windows, Apple OSX, Linux, and Google Chrome OS.

Can this drive dock support both 2.5 and 3.5 inch SATA drives?

Yes, this drive dock supports both 2.5 and 3.5 inch SATA drives.

Does it support Linux?

Hello Keith J, Thank you for contacting us in regards to your question. Yes it supports Linux. Thank you and have a nice day! Newegg Support
