No, this only supports SATA m.2 drives. The 960 Evo is PCIe.

Not without an adapter— Apple's SSDs are proprietary. And also PCIe, not SATA. OWC sells enclosures that will work with these SSDs though.

Yes, it comes with a USB 3 micro-B to USB 3 A cable. The cable's pretty short, about 6".

It depends on the type of m.2 drive, this is a SATA enclosure and will work with m.2 SATA drives (like the Samsung 850 & 860), but not with m.2 NVMe drives (like the Samsung 950 & 960).

You need to check the X400 SSD  for the type of key slot. StarTech is M.2 (NGFF, B-Key) otherwise it may not be compatible.

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad P50 with two SSDs.  I need to send it in for touch screen repair.  All my data is on Drive D, which I want to remove and place in an enclosure so I can access my data from another computer.  Lenovo's specs say it is 512GB SSD SATA3.  There's a label on the bottom of the drive that reads:  SM20J76696  AP0Z6000700KRD  10A63H1010347.  Will this enclosure work for me?  If not, can someone tell me which one I need?  Thanks, Gini

I am not sure about your specific drive. Mine is the mid size or standard M.2 size as I understand it. It fits fine and the case is still great for my specific M.2.  Make sure you identify your M.2 and choose its proper size and enclosure before buying anything! There are a great many websites that will help you identify by the keys as to which yours is. Google is your friend on this one!

No, it only does SATA, not PCIe. So things like the m.2 850 Evo will work, but the 950 won't.
