Pros: PnP. Works perfectly with 1Gbe. Will be on 10Gbe network once switch arrives.
Follow-up. Works perfectly on ASUS ROG STRIX X-270F motherboard and Ubiquiti Networks EdgeSwitch ES-16-XG at 10Gb speeds.

Pros: - Connected at 10G through about 100feet of high quality cat 5e to a copper SFP+!
- Auto negotiated to 2.5G when connected to a switchport limited to that speed
- No drivers needed, windows detected the x550 and knew what to do.
Cons: - Expensive
Overall Review: I was able to run a 7.5Gbps speedtest to my local server. The only reason I got this was to test some new servers that have 25gbps nics, I needed more devices with high capacity links to test the servers. Very happy so far!
Pros: Plugs right in any available PCI X8 port. Instantly recognized by Fedora/Ubuntu, OS. Throughput at 10GB/s. Cat 6e cable use a must. Make sure you have speed compatible switch.
