Will this work with a new install of WIN 7 Pro 64 bit?

Not sure.  I am using it for a Windows 7 64 bit system but it is a guest inside a Linux host using Virtualbox.   The connection is bridged, so it is not mediated by a router inside Vbox but I don't know if the driver is still mediated by Vbox.  Am away till July 5 so I can't see how it looks in the guest till then.  At any rate, it worked fine from day 1.

will this fit in a slot in an HP Pavilion Slimline s3600z?

Two things: (1) does your motherboard have a PCI-e slot on it and (2) will you need a reducer slot so that it fits securely. If you open the side cover, you should see a black 1-1 1/4 inch slo which would be the PCI-e slot that is required and also see if the slots are standard size or reduced which would mean you would need a reduction slot which comes with many of these cards. Hope that helps...

Sorry to get back so late, but I am actually using this with a pfSense firewall which is FreeBSD based for a home test network, and I haven't a problem with it at all.  It worked out of the box with no issues.

this card does support 2008 R2 / 64 bit, and windows 8 which 2012 is modeled after.  I would assume it will support 2012 R2 x64 bit.  This does have a Realtek chipset and shouldn't be a problem.

I've run into an issue with this card i bought. After installing this card, my windows 10 does find and install the drivers for it but the issue is now my Onboard Realtek GBE family controller stopped working with error "Cable Unplugged". My Onboard and this add-on card have same chipset and i believe this has disabled my onboard. Isn't a possibility to have the 2 same chipset NIC run simultaneously. I've uninstalled drivers, checked the bios lan if it was disabled, rebooted few times, removed the card and reseated but my onboard NIC not working. I need both of my NIC working for the project i'm working on. I've spent lot of time searching for a solution online, came across few applied them but no luck. I think only one Realtek controller can run at one time but there's got to be  a way to make both work of same chipset. Anyone has any solution. I'll have to return this card and get intel if i can't make both work at same time?Please let me know. Thanks

In answer to your NIC question, I never have the same chipset when it comes to NIC cards. I'm not running windows 10 but I ran my own business for years fixing and building computers and I always stayed away from this type of conflict when it comes to network adapters. You would think this would not be an issue with expanded addressing controllers but I've run into the same thing. Get a different NIC card with a different chip and see if the OS can address them apart.
