How well would this hold up on a windy day? I need something that will remain sturdy (not too lightweight)

David, this is a solid price of equipment. I used it on a construction site with my transit and didn't have any issues. But, in a heavy wind I would put something on the legs for stability. As far as holding up this is a solid tri pod.
