Yes indeed. Intel C2550 "Avoton" based Atom. 64-bit 4 core, 2.4 GHz (turbo allows up to 2.6 GHz), with no hyperthreading. This CPU also has Intel Virtualization technologies, including VT-X and VT-X EPT.

What ram did you get to work in this mobo?

I used some 4 * 2GiB unbuffered ECC DDR3 DIMMs I had lying around from previous upgrades.

I have used both ECC and NON-ECC memory... Look at the specs on their website for specs and get a matching set (I couldn't find any of the recommended RAM SuperMicro suggested on Newegg)

I notice this has a designed-in open-end x8 PCI-E slot, and no raised board components behind the open-end slot, which appears to make this board compatible with x16 graphics cards. (The PCI-E spec allows this, it will run at x8 speed.) Has anyone tried this?

No, but it should work as long as there is nothing in the way and as long as the onboard Aspeed graphics can be disabled.
