The specs say the max TDP is 160 Watts. Does that mean per-CPU, or do both CPUs need to be 160 Watts or less COMBINED? Clarification: I want to put 2x E5-2683V4 in this board, and each CPU will be 120 Watts.

Each CPU needs to be individually less than 160W TDP, so 2xE5-2683v4 chips is supported.

Is this motherboard shipping with BIOS support for Xeon E5-v4 processors or will it need an update?

I contacted Supermicro and they said that as long as the stock arrived at Newegg beyond February of 2016 then it will have Bios Version 2 which supports the new Broadwell Xeon processors.

You could contact Newegg customer support and verify when the boards came in from Supermicro.

I just ordered one a few weeks ago and it did have the latest bios version. So, assuming they ship out the oldest stock first, you should be good.

Question 4

I currently have the ServerMicro X8DAL-I-0 model and the south bridge heatsink is overheating. (New paste/clean fan.)  The fan is crazy loud.  It's past warranty and I'm looking to replace it.  Does anyone have any insight into operating temperatures or fan speed/noise?  Looking to upgrade to something nice and quiet.

Will this support two E5-2690 V4 Procs?

It should support two E5-2690 V4 processors.  These are 135W TDP processors and it is rated to handle Xeon E5 V4 processors up to 160W.  I'm also using it with a closely related processor (dual Xeon E5-2650 v4 processors) and have had no issues with this motherboard.

Will this motherboard work with the Intel Xeon E5-1620 v3 processor?

It should.. I have the  E5--1620 v4 and it required the Firmware 2.0.  You can double check with the manufacture just to make sure from what I can tell is it should work.  It's a great motherboard.  Mine come with Firmware 2.0 and it works great.

Its ATX max. I tried some supermicro dual cpu boards. They dont fit well. The psu is not attachable either of you have a eatx board.

How long does the POST BIOS? On the ASUS Z10PE-D16 WS takes 40 seconds to POST a whole it takes 90 seconds.
