Then go to Kingston (or another memory vendor) and enter the motherboard model to identify the right memory.  This is important.

BTW, I am running a Xeon E3-1231v3.  Check the specific Xeon model on  Intel's site to determine if the processor has graphics.  I didn't realize that some Intel Xeons don't gave graphics until I purchased one that didn't.

will this fit in a desktop pc case?  I have a Rosewill Challenger case I would like to use. I heard the screw-hole placement might be different.

I'm using this case, which I highly recommend. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811152123 It's a super tight fit to get everything in there, but I have 6 hard drives in there. It's so small and tucks away easy.

I want to build a media server for my house and I will be using Plex TV. Will this play all my Blu-rays without buffering because of the transcoding. So I guess my question is will this CPU be powerful enough to handle digital Blu-ray with Plex?

This is a motherboard only and does not include a CPU (or memory or anything else), which you would need to purchase separately.   You can select as powerful of a CPU as you need to go with it.

Does this require ECC memory or would it work with normal DDR3?

Why would you not use ECC? It doesn't cost that much more, and the reliability is worth it. If I never hear of another person losing data from false economy that will be all right with me.

Is a processor with integrated graphics support required to use the VGA port on this board?

It has a video card on board, so you shouldn't need graphics integrated on the CPU.  If you want to be sure I'd suggest you look up the manual, double check the supported processors list and look for asterisks regarding VGA support (or lack of).

Will an older i7 2600 or i7 940 work  this mother board?

The socket must be the same. The socket is what the CPU fits into on the motherboard, if it won't fit onto the mother board it won't do you much good. This motherboard has a LGA1150 socket. The i7 2600 requires a LGA1155 socket, and the i7 940 requires a 
FCLGA1366 socket.

No, only 1 GB, 2 GB, 4 GB, or 8 GB ECC Unbuffered memory works in these.
