There is no low profile end included. Sorry, but I am not familiar with VMware 5. This device works very efficiently doing the job for which it is intended. The only possible drawback I see is that it increases the start up time for the computer as my UEFI BIOS takes time to recognize the device and show, on the screen, where it is connected to the computer.
