Tayama Cool Touch Rice Cooker and Warmer with Steam Basket
Helpful Cooking Tips
For better tasting rice, rinse the uncooked rice until the water runs somewhat clear to remove the excess starch.
Use the included measuring cup to measure rice and water ratio.
Example: 3 cups of white rice (uncooked) and 4 1/2 cups of water.
Once the rice has cooked and switches to Keep Warm, open the rice cooker lid and using the provided spatula, fluff/mix the rice around (bottom to top) and close the lid and allow it to sit for another 5-10 mins.
- Rice cooker measuring cups are smaller then US measuring cups (approximately 3/4 the cup size). Please use the provided measuring cup.
- Approximate Ratio for white rice: Measure 1 cup of rice and 1 1/2 cup of water
- For Brown Rice general ratio is 1 cup of brown rice and 2 1/4 cups of water
- Check your rice packaging for any cooking tips
- Make sure there is no debris on the burner plate
- Dry the exterior of the inner pot before placing it in the rice cooker
- Plug in the rice cooker and press switch to Cook mode, it will automatically switch to Keep Warm once rice is done cooking
