Pros: Well, I've burned about 130 of these (out of 2 kits , 200). I haven't had a single coaster or any problems yet. I have a samsung 18x DVD burner SATA, 750gb Seagate HD 32mb.
Cons: none so far
Overall Review: my wife is hot =)
Pros: Always go with TDK, never seem to have burn errors, or bad discs. Great product, great price. Steer clear of Memorex though.
Pros: No coasters after 500 of these. So far the best I have used. I use a ancient Panasonic standalone dvd writer. They work in other machines as well.
Cons: They do have different colors.
Pros: Fairly inexpensive
Cons: Manufacture ID is TTH02 (never heard of them). Poor burns @ 16x. Much better quality burned @ 8x speeds. I can live with 8x, but I'm kind of upset my 16x burns are so poor with anything over 2GB on these discs (PIF errors galore).
Overall Review: Bought as bundle with NEC ND-3550A DVD burner. Burner was immediately upgraded with latest 1.05 firmware. My previous TDK 8x discs were made by Taiyo Yuden (great quality). I have no idea who TTH is. My drive has no problem burning MCC, CMCMAG, Taiyo Yuden, or Prodisc made DVD+-R discs.
Pros: I get TDK DVDs everytime they are on sale
They are my favorite blank DVDs and I beleive the best value for your money
Overall Review: If you have a older DVD burner then make sure to upgrade your firmware in your DVD burner, I noticed that after I upgraded the firmware in my 16x DVD burner that I bought 3 years ago now it is more compatible with various brands that it wasn't compatible with before, plus it burns all of the 16x blank DVD media at 16x
To get the model number of your DVD burner go to
Start, programs, accessories, system tools, system information, then under 'Components' select 'CD-Rom'
Then go to the DVD burner company website and get the firmware for your specific DVD burner model
Make sure to follow their instructions carefully for installing the firmware
Pros: I've been using TDK's -R and +R for years now and have never had a problem with them. I've used about 500 disks this year (2008) so far and have had maybe 5 coasters? I highly recommend these.
NewEgg always has them on sale with no shipping! Sweet!
Pros: No coasters. Uncluttered, plain grey writing surface.
Overall Review: Seems like on any review of a media brand, most give high marks, while a few would never touch it again. Makes me think that some burners (or software) just can't play nice with some DVD brands. Find a brand that works for you and stick with it.
Pros: I have used TDK's for quite awhile now. Great media, never coastered.
Overall Review: Best brand of blanks bar none.
