can this record audio and put it into MP3 format?

Hello there, Thank you for contacting us in regards to your question. According to the specifications, the model would record .wav files which is a lossless audio format and does not list to record to MP3. It does however play MP3 files over usb or SD. Hope this helps, Newegg Support
