Thermal Grizzly TG-GG-100-100-08 TG GPU Guard Gasket 100x100x0.8 mm Highly Compressible Foam Die Protection

The TG GPU Guard is a highly compressible foam gasket for the GPU dies of graphics cards. It protects electronic components when using liquid metal or other electrically conductive thermal interface materials, while also extending the durability of liquid metal. The TG GPU Guard covers the surface-mounted devices (SMDs) next to the GPU and is slightly taller than the GPU die itself. The highly compressible base material has a height of 0.8 mm and can be compressed down to 0.15 mm, easily compensating for height differences of the SMDs.

When mounting the cooler, the applied pressure fully compresses the foam to bridge the height difference between the PCB and the cooler, ensuring that liquid metal (or other thermal compounds) cannot spread onto other components on the PCB. In addition, the foam gasket prevents oxygen from reaching the liquid metal, which further increases its lifespan. The TG GPU Guard is gallium-resistant.

Apply the TG GPU Guard according to the instructions before applying liquid metal to the GPU and cooler.

The universal variant consists of a 100 × 100 × 0.8 mm pad that can be individually cut to size. Depending on the size of the GPU dies, one universal pad may be sufficient for multiple GPUs.
When cutting the universal version, please observe the following points:

• Measure the GPU die and mark the outline on the foam with a permanent marker. The cutout in the foam should be 12 mm larger around the die.


• Whenever possible, use a sharp scalpel on a suitable cutting surface.


• Work carefully and patiently.


• Cut the opening for the GPU first.


• Cut the outer edge last.
