Thermaltake W0131RU 850W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Certified 80 PLUS Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: NewEgg service can't be beat. Thermaltake's 5 year warranty on this unit says a lot. My board requires a minimum 600 watts, but the 850 gives it some breathing room. Currently running a dual core AMD, dual Raptors in RAID 0, 1 other SATA WD 150 for backup,eVga 7900GTO, 4 gigs of 800MHZ RAM, TT Mini Typhoon and a slew of fans. I plan on upgrading to a multi-core cpu and multiple gpu's. The TP 850 should handle that with no problem. It's everything as advertised and very quiet.

Cons: As Sluggo said, it won't pass a standard PSU test, even though the unit is fine. Max sustainable 12v load is 62 amps. Both should be clearly stated somewhere.

Overall Review: I reviewed one earlier that I thought was DOA because it failed 3 testers, but this one did the same and it performs great in my system, even better than expected. No second thoughts about this purchase. It's worth every penny. The 3% limit on voltage variation is a very nice plus. And, thanks to the NewEgg webmaster!

Pros: Stable power, good airflow, Good cable design. Checking voltage on Pc ProbeII and charted on Speedfan - no flucuations.

Cons: Would like to know which cables are on which rail.

Overall Review: My system:Asus Striker Extreme, E6700, Corsair 8500C5 1 Gig x2, 3 WD 250's in raid 0, 2 WD 500's, 2 DVD RAM's, 7-1 Floppy, XFI-Fatality, 2 512MB 7900GTX - SLI, 6 Case Fans. 4 Light Tubes.

Pros: Worked out of the box.

Cons: Three days after installing I noticed the fan wasn't spinning.

Overall Review: RMAed though Thermaltake, when I got the replacement the computer shut off after 10 minutes and wouldn't came back on. Glad I still had time to RMA to Newegg for refund.

Pros: Excellent power source, runs my system without a hiccup. Enough shielded cables supplied. See sys spec below. Newegg service outstanding as usual!

Overall Review: My system: QX6850 CPU, Zalman 9700 CPU Cooler, Striker Extreme MB, 4 gigs Corsair Ballistics DDR2, Dual Nvidia 8800 GTX 768 Video Cards,WD 250 Gig HD, 2 DVD's and Floppy Drive, NZXT Case with 9 fans. All running Vista OS.

Pros: Plenty of power, 4 x 6pin PCI-E connectors, high AMPs available for SLI applications. Comes with plenty of cables, a rubber fitting to reduce vibration against the case (not really an issue, but hey), its quiet and efficient. Modular cables, Active PFC and other safeties and good reputation of Thermaltake.

Cons: Its big. Depending on your case, it may cause issues, but not too likely. I only ran into a problem because of length and the top fan on my NZXT Zero case. I removed the fan, it all works fine.

Overall Review: Not too many users need this size of a power supply. I bought it for the 4 x 6 pin PCI-E connections, its certified status, and Thermaltake's reputation.. and the modular cable ability along with the active PFC and all that. I could have gotten away with a lot less power supply, but this baby had all the features I needed and it will support my plans for twin 8800 GTXs in SLI...

Pros: Well, it has been three years since I bought and gave my review on 3/29/2007 about this product. What it is about PSUs that some people always overlook, undermine, or utterly don't care about is that PSU is just as vital to your system as CPU, GPU, Memory, HDD, etc, plus more: PSU can and most likely will kill other components when it goes kaput; Motherboard and CPU to be the ones susceptible the most. This PSU powers a gaming rig, an enthusiast's rig, over-the-top rig, with 2 OCed 8800GTX sli GPUs, an OCed CPU, 4 OCed memory modules, an OCed motherboard, 6 120mm case fans, a 110mm CPU fan, a 200mm fan, 2 HDD, 2. sound cards and other stuff I can't remember now. A rig, which is in two hands, on and overloaded most of time. To give you an example: I just did my annual Prime95 stress-test on this rig: 24hrs prime stable was the result I woke up to this morning. Pros: Wow, when this baby showed up at the door I was shocked. Once you open the box, and let this beast breathe you'll fully understand. She's a beaut, a smooth looking PSU, that is built like a truck. The modular cables are awesome, and have plenty of length. Each cable is individually wrapped, and is slightly rigid allowing you to bend the cables where you want them. My case looks clean through the side window. Quiet, oh yeah! One of the nicest PSUs I've ever purchased.

Cons: None. King Kong has nothing on this beast.

Pros: Very well packaged in an attractive box. Plenty of cables, screws and accessories (even a rubber mounting pad for the silent PC). Easy to install and easy to use. High quality feel. Quiet and nice looking.

Cons: Not really a con on the PSU but the power cables are a little short for use with the Antec 900 case. Other than that.. NONE.
