is windows installed on this already?

Yes and No.. It comes with the Windows image on the hard drive rather than coming with a dvd. When you boot up for the first time it will launch the Windows installation. Just don't swap out the drive because the sound driver for this machine can't be found. I had to buy an external sound card. Also the video is minimal at most and won't load a dvd movie. I'll have to buy and install a video card if I use this for anything beyond internetting.

32 bit or 64 bit OS???

32. You could try installing a 64 which I didn't try but from what I've read is difficult to find drivers.

Question 3

Does this unit have all the ports on the back for a printer, scanner, monitor, etc ?

Yes to both questions. You will need to add a "WY-Lan card or USB WY-Lan dongle " to get conectivity on a wireless network. I used the dongle because I had one. It is working very well. The front facing cooling fan is a little load. If you have old data on 3 1/2" floppies this little computer has one. They're a little hard to find now days.

Does this desktop have a HDMI connection?

No. VGA is all, I believe. Beware of the fan, tho. Should be easy to get to it but it'll show new heights of fan noise, like taking off.

The IBM ThinkCentre M52 doesn't come with a wifi card installed. You can install one in it, or easier yet, you can use an external USB wifi  dongle that you only have to plug in.

Can you add a cheap video card with HDMI out, a USB TV tuner to this desktop if so what kind is compatible?

Slot 1: half length, 1 lane PCI Express or 1 ADD 2-R
Slot 2: half length PCI [version 2.2]

"ZOTAC ZT-60604-10L GeForce GT 610 512MB 64-bit DDR3 PCI HDCP Ready Low Profile Ready Video Card" will work, havn't tried myself, but that is the cheapest card with HDMI port that will work in this system

Thanks for the info on the video card.  How many open ports are there to add memory?  What type will work best to keep this affordable?

There are a total of 4 slots for memory sticks of the type DDR2, 240 PIN. Some of these computers have 2 sticks 1GB each already installed, so you can add another 2 for  a total of 4GB (the maximum allowed for a Windows 32 bit system). Others have 4 sticks 512MB each, so you have to replace them with 4 x 1GB or 2 X 2GB sticks to get the max. As to the frequency of the RAM, choose 667 MHz, it's cheaper (it runs at 332.5 MHz anyway).
