how much memory is actually available on a 32gb windows tablet. i heard 8gb is left because full windows 8 takes a lot of gb. if i was to insert a sd card with windows programs save on the sd card or will only windows apps pictures, music.??

Hi,

You can attach external drive/card reader via a single mini usb port dongle. I am not using that much space for files so can't comment on impacts from not having that much available. I use cloud storage which is sufficient for me.

Both. 8mp for back cam. Not sure for front, but it's decent enough. Don't expect great low light photos though.

Have you been happy with your purchase?   Did any software, i.e.MS Office come with unit>

Yes, I'm happy with my purchase. The unit comes with Office Student (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) but not Outlook.

I'm not yet truly comfortable with the touch screen. Most of the time it seems to work fine but drop down menus on Firefox seem haphazard but that could be Firefox.

What has disappointed me is the touchscreen keyboard. If you're typing alpha numeric strings (passwords for example), shuttling between numeric and letters is a chore. Also missing is a '.com' button.

The gold standard for touch keyboards is the Samsung Galaxy s4. Wish MSFT would replicate the experience on Windows 8.1

Can this be connected to a keyboard/cover? I find it difficult to type on the touch screen.

Don't think so but then I have not tried. You could try a bluetooth or wireless one.

Nah just 8.1  regular / home / full lol...and it does have office 2013 with the key card.
