Is this router stable when using either the 2.4 or 5GHZ bands?

I have used both the 2.4 and 5.0GHz bands for several months with this router, and have not had any issues with connectivity or performance. I have only used wireless AC adapters for the 5.0GHz band, but all of the adapters that I've used with this router in either bands are non-TP-link and from several different manufacturers.

Question 2

Is this v1 or v2?  I read about connectivity issues with v1.

I have one of the first AC1750's and it is a V1.  No problems whatsoever to date.  I recently got a UVerse connection, and the TP-LINK has better coverage than the supplied Motorola unit from AT&T.  Version 2 should be the current version for sale at NewEgg.

Question 3

is it really 'version 2'? I have read MANY complaints regarding incompatibilities w/ Mac.s and 'version 1'

Yes it really is version 2.  I got it last week.  I have a macbook air along with PC's and a ton of media players.  All connect without any issues.  Not sure why people are posting this router as having issues.  I have had non so far.

v2 is the current version.  You should also check the date of manufacture.  IF it is later than 8/14, you are okay.  If manufactured before 8/14, you need to visit the TP-link site and update the firmware.

Cat 5  available plugs?

1st time I heard cat 5 plug, correct called socket, no Cat 5.

Cat 5 rating means higher frequency bits. This Cat 5 usually does not use for router.

Only for the internet wire means it can support Cat 5 standard.

Note: must use 8 wire all connect to both side RJ 46 plug, from PC to router Lan,

otherwise PC      Ethernet/ Speed won't shows up  1G  (bits)

Is this router POE(power over Ethernet) enabled?

No.  Very few consumer level devices have PoE.  It is primarily used in professional environments, so SOHO/consumer level products won't spend the amount of money required to add the functionality.  It would likely double the cost of the router.

Anyone know if the version currently in stock is the v2 version of the chipset that works with OpenWRT?

Ordered mine on 5-2-14. It shipped from Tennessee. It was a version2. I was a little worried about getting a version 1.

Is it possible to buy replacement antennas for this router?

I haven't been able to find direct replacements from TP LINK, but there are some after markets out there with good reviews. Search for "TP LINK C7 REPLACEMENT ANTENNA" and you can find a few through similar vendors (they won't let me use post links)

Question 9

Anybody have an idea how many devices can realistically connect to this at one time with good stability? I'm looking to use this in a church auditorium where many devices will be trying to connect at one time (I don't know, perhaps up to 75 devices)?

I would not connect 75 devices to this.  I would feel comfortable connecting 25 to a max of 40 devices.  When I worked at a school district we liked to keep 25-35 devices per AP.  Any more then that and people started seeing speed and connectivity issues.

I need a wireless connection which will increase the speed of vidios downloading from china to a I pad   will this mode increase the speed?

It all depends on where the speed bottleneck is. This router will solve any local wireless issues between the router and the iPad. It will also help in speed between the router and your communication carrier via broadband. It will not help with any issues between Chinese server and rest of Internet.
