Depends on the aggregation.  If we're talking hardware layer aggregation, then no, that would be listed as a feature with by the following names: Channel-bonding, port-channels, LACP, 802.1AX, or 802.3ad.  the AX variant is referring to what is known as a static port-channel in which the ports are tied together regardless of what they are connected to and don't check to make sure they are connected into the same thing (this causes loops which will bring down a network).  As to where LACP or 802.3ad does a check against the other end with a negotiation protocol to ensure both ports are connected into the same device.  Both sides have to run LACP and agree on their settings for the links to move from a down state into an up state.

There are methods of aggregation that do not rely on the network, these are setup in software of the device itself and will increase load on the CPU (the software uses compute resources to emulate both connections as a single one, then hashes outgoing and combines the incoming traffic streams in this manner as well) that is handling them, but with how little most networking/CPU/RAM resources are used it's more beneficial to set this up typically than not to.  I would recommend looking at software solutions for aggregation that utilize active load balancing.  (typically these come bundled in the manufacturer's software of the device or can be downloaded form the networking card manufacturer,  the Intel PROset software will contain aggregation like this for networking cards that support it.)  With active load balancing, both interfaces can typically receive different data at the same time, it's all dependant on the software at that point though.
