Does the rack has fans?

The unit does not come with any fans. There are however, two 4.5 inch fan ports and plenty of side and door ventilation.

Is there a lock on the door? (It looks like there is in the picture?)

Yes, each panel has a lock.
You can turn them by hand on the back, which allows it to swing out from the wall and on the front to open, if they are not locked.  The 2 sides need the key to open them.

Question 3

Considering purchasing this for audio/video equipment (receiver, sat/cable box, Mac Mini, and surge protector.  It does not appear that this comes with any shelving.  Can anyone confirm whether I would need to add internal shelving, or does it come with and just not pictured?

No shelving.  This is built to house server blades, with mounting brackets 19" apart.  However, there are rack shelves available specifically made to fit the brackets that do allow non-rack equipment to be kept in the cabinet.  We use this cabinet to install a video surveillance DVR, along with an Eaton 5SC1000 UPS, and a camera power supply.  The DVR is rack mounted, the UPS and power supply we place in the bottom of the cabinet.  This is a very well made cabinet.

I need help understanding what "12U" means.  I need to install 2 network switches and 2 network video recorders in one rack cabinet.  will this unit be large enough?

1U = 1.75" of space in the rack. A network switch is usually 2U and Video recorders are normally 3U. So will be using 10U of space. Hope this helps.

What is the depth of this rack?  I need a unit that will accommodate an HP Server (28" depth).

You can tell from the info that 28" will exceed the dimensions of this product. I can't recall if the rear door can be removed, otherwise I'm certain it won't fit.

Question 9

Does it allow mounting of 19" rack Ethernet switches?  I need something that will fit my Ethernet switch that mounts in a 19" rack that is roughly 22" deep.  The cabinet must also have locks so this seems like what I want, but I need specs on the size.

Yes, this will hold most standard 19" rack equipment.

If your equipment is deep: consider the extra depth required for your power cord and networking cables as you will only have about 20.5" maximum internal depth.
