How do you get the buttons on the right side to work?

Assuming you have the Level 10M Gaming Mouse software installed - open it. It opens a window showing all the buttons on your mouse - you can click the button you want to mod then select on the right side from a list of common options what you'd like. If you wanna get fancy you can click the Macro Key tab (it's sideways about in the middle), a Macro Key Settings window opens. Click new and make a name for what happens when you click a button. You can select an option from the drop down Commands menu at the bottom right or click record to simply use a keyboard button and/or create a pattern (like ALT+TAB). I click save and overwrite the file just to be sure then hit apply at the bottom. By hitting apply it will change the setting for whatever button you had highlighted before - If you mess it up, you can open your saved macros under the T Key option, just make sure you have the correct button selected.

If you mean: Can the buttons be assigned macros to create keystrokes, the answer is yes. It is done through the software included with the mouse.
