Two things decide whether you fall asleep: what you can see, and what you can hear. The Velin Aura handles both in one piece of fabric. The eye section is a soft 3D dome, not a flat pad. Your lashes sit inside the cavity rather than against it, so your eyes blink and move through the night without the pressure that makes most contoured masks unbearable by morning. The speakers are flat, circular and live in side pockets, so lying on your side there is nothing between your ear and the pillow but soft fabric. Slide each one along its pocket until it sits over your ear. Bluetooth 5.4 connects to your iPhone, Android, tablet or laptop, so you play whatever already works for you - a meditation, a podcast, an audiobook, brown noise, or nothing at all. The sleep timer is the part people notice second. Double-click the [+] button and you hear "one hour power off." Again, and you hear "two hours shutdown." Once more for "long play." The audio ends. Your night doesn't. When it needs cleaning, the electronics come out completely. Open the interior panels, slide out both speakers, lift out the Bluetooth module, draw the wiring through, and the mask is just fabric again. Hand-wash in cool water and lay it flat to dry.
