Will ordinary markers write clearly on the label (white) side?

When you say "ordinary markers" I assume you mean Sharipe type pens. If that's the case, yes they will work. Anything else will probably just wipe off. The surface is glossy and slick. Personally, I use a dedicated archival CD/DVD pen to be safe, but have used sharpie in a pinch.

Is this hub printable? i do not want the plastic in the middle

the entire top of the disc is flat , 
so it's printable almost to the hole (minus quarter inch around it)

I have an Epson Artisan printer which prints on "inkjet printable CDs". Can I print on these CDs using my printer?

No.  This is Thermal, not Ink Jet.  You will end up with a grayish mist on the surface of the disk that will wipe off staining the material used.  In my one test on an Epson 220 Ink Jet on a CISS system no amount of drying time would have worked either.   On the Newegg Search pages, make sure you use the left search filters, near the bottom use the "printable" drop down menu and select "Ink Jet" to find your specific product.

Question 4

What (if any) is the danger in using this CDR in a Tascam CC-222 CD & Cassette Recorder System? I need to know before I take the chance.  My instruction booklet says to use plain Cdr's. I've had this for the past 9 years and have kept it in tip top shape and have Never had a problem.  But I would like to know if these particular CDRs are perfectly safe for my recorder. Thanks, David Clonts.

These are plain CD-R's as far as your computer will be able to tell. They just have a different label side. The part where the computer puts data is regular CD-R.
