what is the right kind to use? bd-r or bd-re

BD-R are essentially write once but BD-RE are rewritable.

By rewritable, I mean you can erase data and write to the same space on the disc again. You cannot erase existing data on a regular BD-R but only keep writing to it until you are full or close the disc.

Naturally the BD-RE costs more as you can get more utility out of them.

For myself, I only buy BD-R's as I only use these discs for archiving and do not want the data to be erased/overwritten.  I have no need to pay for capability that I won't use.  However, your needs may be different.

My Blueray drive support Lightscribe, does this disc support it? Can I write something on the top of the disc?

Will these work or read on a ps3 slim?   just wanting to make sure I get the right product before purchasing ,  better safe to ask than not.

also can you half a movies on one disc and half the other?   I have the software,, I know I can half a movies,  but will the ps3 read each off on each separate disc.

Also will a ps3 slim read bd re disc,  this would be good as I have all my movies backed up on a hardrive in blu ray format, and when I have a movie night planned I could just burn it to the re disc

I believe that would depend on the format of the movie. NOTE you can not copy a blu-ray to a blu-ray due to Digital copy-rite.
