does it work with a samsung android tablet?

I can't say. I bought this to control my PC while lounging on my couch, but it is too small to use comfortably unless you are sitting up and the lights are on. The buttons are very small and it's hard to control the mouse. I don't currently use it.

What operating system are you running....
However, you must press the bluetooth button on the keyboard, after the light flashes,  you must detect the keyboard in the bluetooth control panel, assuming windows.  you may be required to type a series of numbers onto the keyboard, then it will sync and bond..

If the tablet is an Android Tablet running any version 4.x of Android and has Bluetooth, it will work.  I have used this keyboard with Android 4.x, 5.x IOS (Apple) and Windows 7 and 8.

I.E. it's just a bluetooth keyboard and mouse, and works pretty well.

Is this back lit?

Yes. It's a very small keyboard. It works, but is too small for me to use the way I wanted to. I recommend a full size Bluetooth keyboard with integrated touch pad and mouse buttons.

I had trouble at first as well. Ended up letting it charge for a few hours. From there I was able to pair it following the instructions included in the manual.
