Would this sound bar work if i hooked it up to my directv dvr? My TV only has SPDIF audio out.

The sound bar will work with your dvr, provided your dvr has standard rca audio out jacks (red/white). With this setup, any live or recorded program will come out of the soundbar. However, other sources like DVD, blu ray, roku, etc would not. The soundbar has two analog (stereo) inputs, so you can have it connected to two sources (dvr & dvd player). You can switch inputs with the soundbar's remote so you won't need to get up or change any connections.
